The IT Engineer acts as a technical guide for Go West IT clients, playing an instrumental role in delivering comprehensive IT services and support for end users. In collaboration with all internal teams, the IT Engineer engages on escalated break/fix support requests, provides remote and onsite presence in support of client initiatives, and assists the technical team with project implementation. Reporting to a Managing Engineer, they apply critical thinking, impeccable organization, and a proactive approach to identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex technical problems.

What you will be doing: 

  • Daily interaction with multiple customers to troubleshoot, plan, and implement IT solutions onsite at their office and/or remotely from our Greenwood Village office 

  • Escalation triage and ticket management with Service Desk and other Engineering teams for optimal SLA delivery 

  • Systems, network, and cloud platform design collaboration and implementation 

  • Hardware configuration, optimization, maintenance, and support 

  • Network systems implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support 

  • Windows Server deployment and management 

  • Active Directory/Azure AD/MDM design collaboration and policy management 

  • Backup and BCDR strategy collaboration, implementation, and execution 

  • Business/user technology and application troubleshooting 

  • Internet service, email, and hosting setup or troubleshooting 

  • Thorough documentation of customer environments, processes, and credentials 

  • Regular security and health audits of customer business technology 

  • Submission of timely, thorough, and accurate billable labor entries for invoicing 

  • Opportunities to be involved with and support ongoing customer projects 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Managing Engineer 

Job requirements

Qualifications we require from you: 

  • 2 or 4-year degree or equivalent experience in information systems or similar field, and/or applicable industry certifications  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in previous IT role (i.e., Helpdesk/Desktop Technician or Engineer)  

  • Authorization to work in the United States 

Preferred skills from you: 

  • Proficiency in the following: 

  • Windows Server (On-premise, cloud, and virtual) 

  • Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, or Intune/MDM Management 

  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure Resources, WVD, and Teams 

  • Network Switches, Routing, and Policy Management (i.e., Cisco, HP, etc.) 

  • Firewalls (i.e., FortiGate, Cisco, SonicWall, or Palo Alto) 

  • Security (i.e., Microsoft Security and Compliance Center) 

  • Consulting/Customer Communication  

  • System Administration 

  • Encouraged, but not required:  

  • Experience with Linux, Mac, SQL administration, or telephony 

  • Industry Certifications (i.e., CompTIA Network+/Security+, AZ-104, etc.)
